WhatsApp API guide

WhatsApp API pricing explained

WhatsApp pricing has two parts: the software you use, and what Meta charges for messages. With AnjokWA Bot the software is free, so only Meta's charges remain.

What Meta charges for

Meta charges for template messages — the pre-approved messages a business sends first. Templates are in three categories: marketing, utility (such as order updates) and authentication (one-time passwords). The price depends on the category and the recipient's country code, and is charged per delivered message.

What is free

When a customer messages you, a 24-hour customer service window opens. Your replies in that window are service messages and are not charged. Utility templates sent inside an open window are also free. That is why a good chatbot design saves real money.

Where to find exact rates

Meta publishes a rate card per country and category, and updates it from time to time. Check it in your WhatsApp Manager or on Meta's pricing page before planning a big campaign.

How to keep costs down

Answer inside the service window whenever you can, use utility templates for genuine transactional updates, send marketing templates only to people who opted in, and never blast your whole list with the same promotion.
